CGS Records is housed in the historic RCA Victor building in the heart of Nashville’s Music Row. We are an independent record label that features what we like to call, "Outlaw Gospel" music. The term outlaw in the context of country music, and now gospel music, simply means nonconformist. We do not conform to any particular musical sound, formula, approach, or any other music business “norm.” You will not likely find our music on Christian or Gospel radio stations, nor would you typically find it within worship music playlists. The label features artists who happen to be believers, and whose songs chiefly come out of their life experiences as believers.

CGS is an acronym for Common Ground Sound. This reflects the philosophy and understanding that we are not God. We are not here to preach, correct, or redirect. We are not good enough - or "God enough" to judge others. We stand firmly in our own personal beliefs, and openly share the stories of our journeys in life through music and story. We respect that we all have roots in common ground. The “sound” of our artists and label reflects a deep respect for the commoners of America. It is our belief that commoners are the most powerful people group in this country, and any country for that matter. With this sound, it is always our aim to encourage and empower others.

We are not sending artists out of Nashville to come to your town, make money, and leave. We want to authentically connect to the people in your area. We feel that is what music is all about. Our shows offer a unique experience for the audience, and our artists bring long lasting connection opportunities for area citizens of all ages.
